We all need mentors-- Earth Angels, treasured humans-- that see something unequivocally good and precious in us, and use their wisdom, tools, and resources to pull it out of us so that it --and we--can live elevated and fully expressed in the world.
It has been my great honor to be mentored by two of my cherished friends, Denise Pines and Dr. Yolanda Gorman.

Denise Pines
A film producer, health advocate, mogul, and all around Renaissance Woman, Denise has produced films such as Birthing Justice, and the globally acclaimed M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause through her company, Women In the Room Productions. For me, Denise has been a profound mentor, cheerleader, sponsor, connector, wise woman and friend. Throughout the years, I've pitched her my wild ideas, and she has offered keen insight, and given me the kind of honest feedback that helps dreams become sustainable realities. What a joyous surprise to learn she had nominated me for the 2025 California Black Women's Trailblazer Hall of Fame Award because she saw something amazing in me. That moment, and the recognition from the California Black Women's Collective Empowerment Institute remains one of my greatest honors.

Dr. Gorman, triple UCLA alum, is the former President of Phillips University, and former Chief of Staff to two UCLA Chancellors. She is now the interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Alumni Affairs and Advancement Services, and CFO of the UCLA Foundation and the UCLA Investment Company.
She is my Executive Coach, yet, I call her Sister and Friend.
